Mumbai: Restaurant chain Burger King has removed tomatoes from its menu in India due to inflation.

According to media reports, last month a restaurant in India announced that many of its restaurants across the country were temporarily removing tomatoes from their burgers due to rising prices and a lack of tomato supply.

Now Burger King has also announced that they too are unable to include tomatoes in their menu. In the FAQs section of its website, Burger King assured customers that tomatoes will be back soon, but for now the shortage is due to substandard tomato harvest and supply.

It should be noted that this decision of Burger King has come at a time when the Central Bank of India had forecast inflation of 5.1% to 5.4% in the current financial year, taking into account the inflation of certain food items in the country.
